Statement of Faith
THE BIBLE
We believe in the verbal inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures and the authority of both
the Old and New Testaments.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 1:1-2; Psalm 19:7-9; Hebrews 1:1; Matthew 5:17-19;
Revelation 22:18-19
GOD
We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit-
and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and
worthy of the same worship, reverence and obedience.
Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 1:8; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; Hebrews 13:8;
John 8:56-59; John 10:24-38; Hebrews 9:14
MAN
We believe man was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through disobedience,
and that the entire human race shares in man's lost and depraved nature.
Genesis 3; Romans 3:9-18; Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 John 1:8; John 3:19-20; Psalm 51:5;
Romans 1:22-25; Romans 5:12-21; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:20-22; John 3:36; Romans 2:5-11
JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the
virgin birth, lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God
and very man.
John 17:4-5; John 1:1-18; Colossians 1:15-19; Hebrews 1:2-6; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 2:1-21;

Matthew 24:23-31; 1 Timothy 6:13-16; Revelation 19:16; Romans 1:3-4; Colossians 2:9
ATONEMENT FOR SIN
We believe that atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of
Jesus Christ.
THE RESURRECTION
We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into
heaven, and His priestly intercession.
John 5:25-29; Revelation 20:12-21:4; Daniel 12:2-3; 1 Corinthians 15:20-26; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58;
2 Timothy 2:11; John 6:40; Romans 8:18-23
SALVATION
We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord
Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.
Ephesians 2; John 3:13-18; Colossians 2:13-14; 1 Timothy 1:15-16; Romans 5:6-11; Romans 8:1;

Romans 8:14-17; John 3:3-8; Titus 3:4-7; Galatians 2:16; Acts 4:10-12
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, the Comforter who indwells and places
every believer in the Body of Christ, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the
world of sin and the judgment to come.
2 Peter 1:19-21; John 16:7-15; John 14:16-17; John 14:25-26; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16;
Galatians 5:16-26; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:9-11
INDWELLING OF THE SPIRIT
While all believers are in-dwelt by the Spirit of God (Romans 8), we believe the baptism of the
Holy Spirit is a definite endowment of power for service and is separate from conversion.
ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH
We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism by
immersion and the Lord's Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again.
Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Thessalonians 5:11-14; Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 12:4-13;
Colossians 1:28; 2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 2:38-42; Acts 8:12; 1 Corinthians 11:17-33; 1 Corinthians 12:25-27;
Matthew 5:14-16; Romans 10:14-16; Mark 16:15-16
ETERNITY
We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal damnation and
punishment of the nonbelievers. We believe that the consummation of all things includes the
visible, personal and glorious return of Jesus Christ the "Blessed Hope" of the Church.
