3/23/2021 ORDER OF EVENTS PALM SUNDAY TO PASSOVER
As I restudied the events from Palm Sunday to the Passover the first thing that jumped out to me was that the beginning sequence and the ending sequence both displayed miracles in the way Jesus gave the instructions to his disciples. Note the opening event taken from Matthew 21:2-3:
(Jesus) saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
Look at the ending sequence as Jesus directs the disciples to prepare for the Passover meal using Matthew 26:17-19:
17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
In both instances Jesus gives specific instructions for the disciples that involve the voluntary cooperation of other people in the use of property and possessions in the work of the Kingdom. The miracle is the way the Holy Spirit went before the disciples to give them favor and to prepare the hearts of the property owners to bless the work of our Lord.
It is my hope that you will follow these sequence of events with your Bible and walk with the Lord as He prepares to fulfill His mission. God bless.
